Why
choose to involve a facilitator?
Although you probably don't need a facilitator at every meeting,
we think that there are times when an outside facilitator can be
very helpful. Consider using one when you are working through a
hard issue or conflict, or if you need assistance in developing
an agenda that will satisfy your goals.
Facilitation allows
diverse voices to be heard, gives the chair a chance to participate
and stimulates new ideas and a commitment to change.

Group facilitation
Facilitation is a way to help a group of people achieve short or
long-term objectives and work together more effectively. A
facilitator helps groups work together more effectively through
use of our facilitation services. Whether your situation involves
a one-time event, a series of meetings or building working relationships
over time, our facilitators can be of assistance.
Most CMC facilitators are volunteer mediators who have received
special training in assisting others to communicate clearly, listen
for new information, find common ground, make decisions, and move
forward. Our facilitators, like our mediators, don't tell the
group what to do, make decisions or take sides. Their role is
to be neutral, helping the group to accomplish their goals and
work well together.
Fees
Unlike most of our mediation services, the facilitation services
at CMC usually require a fee. Our base fee is $150/hour of facilitation
time. There are discounts available to non-profits and city and
county governments. We work hard to ensure that our fees are not
a barrier to using our services.
Please contact Sandra Francis at 714-1176 to find out more about
our group facilitation services.
