Conflict coaching workshops
In partnership with the Solicitor’s Office for Richland county and
Kershaw counties, the Community Mediation Center offers a series
of workshops called Conflict Coaching. Participants are referred
from the Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI) program that is housed in
the Solicitor’s Office. This program is for first time offenders
and offers them an opportunity to expunge their record by completing
requirements established by the Solicitor’s Office, such as
community services and trainings.
Conflict Coaching is a four-session workshop where participants have the opportunity to learn how to resolve conflicts and to communicate in a cooperative and respectful way. Topics include but are not limited to: effective communication, perceptions, anger management, accountability, and styles of conflict resolution. The final session focuses on future planning through one-on-one conflict coaching or a family meeting.
The Conflict Coaching
sessions take place at the Community Mediation Center. Participants
are charged a small fee for participation. If you have any questions
about this program, please contact Antwanette Bowers at 714-1176.
